following the recent adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution designating 11 July as the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica, the Bosnian Academic Society in Austria—an entity holding Special Consultative Status with the United Nations—together with the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the OSCE and the UN in Vienna, cordially invite you to a commemorative conference marking the 30th anniversary of this historic event:
Commemorate, Reflect, Reconcile: In the Spirit of the UN Resolution on Srebrenica

The conference will focus on fostering dialogue around peace, remembrance, and reconciliation. It aims to deliver a global message of hope and emphasize the importance of learning from the past, underlining that reconciliation is not only necessary, but also achievable.
The conference will be held in English.

Access to the UN:
A UN grounds pass is required to enter the Vienna International Centre (VIC). Invitees or their guests who do not already hold a valid UN grounds pass for the current year are kindly requested to register by sending an email to contact@bhakademiker.org with the following required information:
  1. Title (Mr. or Ms.)
  2. First and last name (as it appears in your ID)
  3. Date of birth
  4. Type of ID (e.g., passport, driver’s license)
  5. ID number and country of issuance
    Alternatively, a copy of the ID document may be submitted.
Registration deadline: Monday, 7 July 2025
All registered participants will be listed with UN security at the main gate of the VIC. Please present this invitation along with a valid ID or passport at Gate 1.
We kindly recommend arriving by 12:30, as the issuance of ground passes may take some time.
